Twins! ~ Angus & Esme

Well, after a looooong blog silence, I'm back and ready to update this thing more than once a year! :) I have a little toddler now taking up a lot of my time, and though I'm still photographing as often as I can, the blog and social media have suffered a bit.
But what better way to update this thing, than with newborn TWINS!  Angus and Esme were my first twin newborn shoot.  It was a lot of fun!  They were just the tiniest little things, and were so good!  The session went so smoothly.
Enjoy the pics!
ps.  If you or someone you know is interested in a newborn portrait session, please contact me at gretchenshawphotography@gmail.com.  Thanks!

Madeline...at 1 year old!-Children's Photography-Memphis, TN

I had the privilege to photograph little Madeline right around her 1st birthday!  Madeline has some amazing eyes! I loved trying to capture the brightness in them.  We played in the park, in the backyard and in her room.  She had a lot of fun playing with the balloons.  It was so cute watching her try to gather all of them in her arms at once.  And I enjoyed seeing how the light through the window made the balloons glow!  Hope you enjoy the new collage look!

Little Joseph...so, so cute-Newborn Portraits-Memphis, TN

Introducing little baby Joseph!

What a precious baby boy he is.  This new family of 3 go to church with us where we've had the pleasure of getting to know them.  I think Mandi was pregnant when I first started to get to know her, and this may be weird, but when I meet someone who is pregnant and I didn't know them before, sometimes I think they're always going to be pregnant.  It makes no sense. But low and behold, a baby is born! I'm excited for the new parents and it's fun watching them love and care for their little guy.
This session was really enjoyable. I had some new props I was excited to use. He slept the whole time and was so easy to work with!  I've really been enjoying newborn sessions.  Again, they're really different from anything else I do, but that's exactly what makes it fun and exciting.
I hope you enjoy and Congrats to Joseph and Mandi!

Nash Bash!-Family Portraits-Memphis, TN

Meet Katherine, Ann Bennett, Elizabeth, and Stephen Nash.

These 4 siblings have been part of my life here in Memphis since I arrived…and actually even before that.  My husband was a family friend of theirs for a while before I appeared on the scene.  He often received text messages and calls inquiring about this new girl in his life.   I was even intimidated sometimes that I wouldn’t meet up to a 11 or 14 year old’s standards.   Well, things turned out pretty great and I have really enjoyed spending time with all four of these guys.

The business is beginning to pick up a bit, and I have many people to thank for that, and this family is included.  They have been a big support and great encouragers as I began this journey.

Taking these photos was actually the kids’ idea!  They wanted to surprise their parents with some updated portraits of themselves for a special occasion.  I thought it was a great idea and was more than happy to help!

Here’s what came out of my camera…
