2013…it’s over and 2014 has begun! I can’t even believe it!
Over New Years, Mike and I had a chance to reflect back on
2013 with some good friends, and it was so great to look back and talk about
the good, the bad, and the ugly.
And really, overall we were both humbled and joyful about what the Lord
has done in our lives this past year.
We’ve had the chance to meet so many wonderful people…the
Lord put 2 people, in particular, in our lives that changed our way of thinking
and living for the rest of I lives, I hope. We are so grateful!
We are so blessed to be here in Memphis, to have great
friends and a great church, and great jobs!
This past year has been an exciting one for Gretchen Shaw
Photography. Some highlights from this past year are:
~Updating my website! And in doing that being able to look back through so many
photos and sessions that got the business to where it is today. Thanks to Susan Kizzee for my new website that I love!
~Also, (though I don’t feel comfortable
sharing these photos online) photographing for Memphis Teacher Residency is always a
highlight for me, and this year was no exception. I’m always in awe of these teachers who show up everyday to
teach and lead the next generation.
~A big handful of clients came back for more this year! I love seeing the little ones get
bigger and I’m always humbled and grateful to the families who allow me to
capture their families over time.
~Another highlight, looking back, is getting to photograph
for Advance Memphis’ Graduations every now and then. Advance Memphis is where my husband works as a GED
teacher. I get to celebrate and
capture really incredible moments for many…some that are graduating from
anything for the first time in their lives. And I get to celebrate with and for my husband who gets to help and
support many people to achieve these goals.
~I also had the chance to display some of my work at Trolley
Night this year on S. Main Street as well as Art For Jobs, a fundraiser for Advance
Memphis.
And of course,
the many sessions that I had the privilege of photographing throughout
the year are such a blessing to me.
Thank you to all who have allowed me to capture some great moments in
2013.
Please enjoy some of my favorite captured moments from 2013
